About the Artist

Raul Rene Gonzalez is a multidisciplinary artist who incorporates a wide range of mediums and methods in his paintings, drawings, sculptures, clothing, murals, installations, live and recorded dance and other performance-based work. Largely autobiographical in nature, his work explores topics such as fatherhood, gender roles, labor, identity, pop culture, science and abstraction.

Gonzalez’s work is included in permanent collections such as the The McNay Art Museum, The National Museum of Mexican Art, The National Hispanic Cultural Center Art Museum, Mexic-Arte Museum, Benson Latin American Collection, Tappan Collective, The University of Texas at San Antonio, Capital One Financial Services, University Health System Salud-Arte, Queens University of Charlotte, The Woodlands High School Art Trust, Artes de la Rosa, Whataburger Museum of Art, The City of San Antonio, and The San Antonio Art League & Museum.
